Alexandra is a Chartered Physiotherapist MISCP, qualified in 2007 from Medical University of Silesia with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy. She was a competitive athlete through her secondary and college years.
Since moving to Cork in 2007 she has worked in Ballincollig and Togher community. In private and public hospitals in both Cork and Dublin. She has attended a wide range of post graduate courses to develop her skills but has particular interest in Obstetrics, Pelvic Girdle Pain in Pregnancy. Alex has had extensive post graduate training in treatment of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal disorders and is experienced in this area. Especially orofacial, neck and shoulder. She uses Dry Needling, Manual therapies, modalities and other advanced techniques for Pelvic Pain and other musculoskeletal conditions. She began her own practice in 2009 part time. Alexandra chose to focus her clinic on Women’s Health, Neuro and Vestibular rehabilitation, Oro- Facial and non- specific musculoskeletal pain. She has made it her life's goal to help women to overcome pelvic problems and pain. She has designed her own Superphysiofit Pelvic Floor and core program. The program itself is based on her own clinical experience and evidence-based integrative techniques she learned throughout years. She is still developing in this area up skilling constantly. Alex is a (CPWHC) Chartered Physiotherapists in Women's Health and Continence member. Alex has developed an extensive experience in treating elderly patients through her work in residential care settings over the last 10 years. She has been enrolled to the PgD program in the UCC focused on assessment and minimising falls risk in elderly population. She has been continuing her private practice @Superphysiofit, scheduled with Senior Physiotherapist position for Aisling O'Brien's Physiotherapy within Apple Wellness Clinic In MSK area. She also worked as a locum Physiotherapist in the Mater Private. Alex has recently moved to a full time post at the Mater Private Hospital. Her clinical areas of interest include Orthopaedics/MSK, Pelvic Health and Cardiorespiratory Alexandra is an Advanced Runner and she has an interest in movement analysis such as improving running techniques. She is experienced in treating foot pain and she prescribes a specialised orthotics and orthopaedic footwear for adults and children. She is a committee member/ educational officer of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (Southern Branch). She supports the ISCP and coordinates Physiotherapy services /Tents at the finish line/ for marathons and races in Cork and Kerry. Alex is a trained Pilates instructor. Alex runs her small pregnancy and general women's health workshops. She also conducts her Superphysiofit Pelvic Floor and core classes. She is Manual Handling and Patient Moving and Handling Instructor with national qualifications. Alexandra runs training sessions and provides ergonomic audits nationally. Alexandra is one of the contributors to the Ballincollig Health and Wellbeing Magazine where together with other passionate and professional people; as well as healthcare professionals writes on variety of topics. The magazine was founded in April 2017. The aim was to inform citizens about health and wellbeing services available in Ballincollig community. After a year Ballincollig Health and Wellbeing Magazine has become very popular and source of information covering interesting topics - different each month. |
